Welcome to Reserve Cape Cod

The Upper Cape region of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is the westernmost section of Cape Cod, closest to the mainland and accessible via two bridges. This area includes the towns of Bourne, Falmouth, Sandwich, and Mashpee, offering a mix of natural beauty, historical sites, outdoor activities, and cultural experiences.

Bourne: Known as the gateway to Cape Cod, Bourne is bordered by the Cape Cod Canal and Buzzards Bay. The town features both the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges, the only road links to the mainland. Alongside the Canal, you’ll find bike paths running for about 8 miles, perfect for biking, running, and fishing. Bourne's landscape includes small ponds, harbors, and rivers. One of its notable summer residents was President Grover Cleveland.

Falmouth: Falmouth is famous for its stunning beaches and clear waters of Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound. It comprises eight unique villages, each brimming with charm. The town is also the closest mainland point to Martha’s Vineyard, just seven miles offshore. Falmouth’s quaint Main Street offers shops, bookstores, galleries, and restaurants. The village of Woods Hole is a globally recognized center for oceanic scientific research.

Mashpee: Mashpee boasts sandy beaches, freshwater ponds, and enchanting woodlands. The town was originally established as a reserve for the Mashpee Tribe of Wampanoag, the first Cape Codders long before the Pilgrims arrived. Wampanoag culture and history are still very much alive in Mashpee today. The town hosts community events year-round at the charming Mashpee Commons shopping outlet.

Sandwich: As the oldest town on Cape Cod, Sandwich is steeped in history, from the historic Town Hall Square to the 1654 Dexter Grist Mill, which still grinds corn beside Shawme Pond. Sandwich’s Glass Town Cultural District showcases an array of cultural and historical attractions, including galleries, potters, glassblowers, and museums, all within walking distance of the town center. Historic Route 6A winds through Sandwich, offering shops, restaurants, and antiquing opportunities along the way.
